The University towns of Evora and Coimbra are charming and lively cities to spend some time in. They are also a good place to experience the popular fado music scene in Portugal. The main library of the University of Coimbra which is almost a 700years old is very well preserved and so is the rest of the campus. Evora is also Portugal’s most beautiful medival town. It’s beautiful 14th century wall and its narrow winding lane leading to striking architectural works like medieval cathedrals and cloisters.
