Macau
Photo Expedition 2006
Macau
is a fascinating mix of of cultures - a fusion of Mediterranean and
Asian architecture, food, lifestyles and temperaments. It is a city of
cobbled backstreets, baroque churches, ancient stone fortress and exotic
street names etched on azulejos, the distinctive Portuguese blue
enamel titles. There is a surfeit of interesting (and important) Chinese
temples and restored villas, and the cemeteries of Macau are the final
resting places of many European and American missionaries.
Macau is also a place for excellent Portuguese food. Going to Macau from
Hong Kong has never been easier, with high speed ferries running between
the two territories.
