Updating my
travel journal - Cebu, Philippines
30, Dec 2007
During my last couple of
trips I have been documenting my trip in detail in my travel
journal. I update the journal almost every day during the
trip. The things I usually capture would be the travel I did
for the day the local food and drinks I try. This
information is very useful when you want to write a
travelogue and also if you want to share details of the
travel with other interested travelers.
In the picture above you can see me updating my travel
journal in the beach of Costabella Resort in Mactan island
near Cebu. I am enjoying the morning sunrise and in the
background you can see the local fisherman trying to fish
mud crabs.

Scuba diving in
Philippines
24-31, Dec 2007
I had a successful scuba diving trip in Philippines. After
my disappointing dive 2 years ago in Bali, Indonesia. This
time it turned out to be pretty good. I did a couple of
dives in Hilotongan marine sanctuary in Olango island near
Mactan Cebu and in Bohol island.
The other attraction in Cebu are: Magellan's cross (this is
where Magellan erected a cross to convert the locals to
Catholics, he also died in a battle with the local chief
lapu lapu in Mactan island),the chocolate hills in Bohol,
Dolphin watching in Pamilacan island, Bohol and finally the
great sea food in Cebu.

Restaurant review: Muthu's
Fish Head Curry, Singapore
22, Dec 2007
Muthu's Curry Restaurant has
been my favorite place for many years. It serves the best
Fish head curry in Singapore. The spicy fish head curry goes
well with the rice and vegetable dishes they serve. A medium
sized fish head is priced at S$20. The portions are pretty
large. It's a good idea to go there with more people to
share the dishes.
The restaurant is located at 138 Race course road in Little
India, Singapore. If you do go there try to walk around the
back lanes of little India you will see a whole lot of
interesting stuff, typical Indian food outlets, Indian
grocery shops and street vendors. This is what you would see
in a typical south Indian city back in India.

New Asia Bar,
Swissotel, The Stamford, Singapore
22, Dec 2007
The hottest drinking spot in
Singapore is the New Asia Bar on the 71st
and 72nd floor of the Stanford Hotel. The cover charge is
S$15 and you can get a pretty decent glass of wine for it.
The view of downtown Singapore is worth the price. A good
time to go there would be just before sunset around 5.30pm.
Its not too crowded around this time. Pick a good seat where
you can see the financial district (down town area). Enjoy
the drink and watch the sunset in the most beautiful city in
Asia.
To get there you could take a MRT train to City hall station
and use the Raffles shopping center exit. Once inside the
shopping centre look for the Equinox restaurant entrance
that is where you will find the elevator to the 71st and
72nd floor. Another important piece of information is the dress
code is formal so don't show up in a shorts and T-shirt.
